Domtar Dominates
Domtar Kicked off their 2009 United Way Campaign Thursday October 22nd. They have an ambitious goal of obtaining $100,000 employee and company combined. This will make them the #2 campaign in our region. To do this they will have to overtake CP Rail whose ca
mpaign last year was $94,000. Will they make it? Time will tell and if I understand correctly so will head shaving. We have the toques ready. Bring on the clippers. Thanks to the Lions Club Paddlewheelers for the barbecue

United Way Youth Grant - 100 Mile House
Cariboo Family Enrichment Centre in 100 Mile House recently received a $1000 Youth Initiative Grant from Thompson Nicola Cariboo United Way to support their I’m A Star! project.
I’m A Star! – Photography and Video Documentation. With this project, youth will be creating a scrapbook of their memories with digital photos and video recordings. This scrapbook will be the basis of a documentary of their lives with the aim to share their story with family and friends. This will be a resource for them as they move towards adulthood and serve as a reflection tool. The youth will be connected to other members of the community such as drama teachers, camera technicians, scrapbook enthusiasts and other role models that would support their goals and possibly create opportunities for them.
