Call for Volunteers!
The Out of the Cold Program run by St. Vincent de Paul needs volunteers. They provide a warm place to sleep and food at St. Paul’s Cathedral downtown for those living on the streets. This program usually runs on Wednesday evenings but because of the colder weather (anything -10C and colder qualifies) lately they are operating every evening. This extension of services is the Extreme Weather Program. These two programs use the same pool of volunteers and are now needing some fresh volunteers to relieve the pressure.
If you are interested in volunteering, please call Maybelle @ 250.376.4161

We Did It! United Way Campaign 2008
Wednesday, December 17th @ 7pm the CP Holiday Train will arrive at Riverside Park on the north side of Interior Savings Centre. The party gets underway before that @ 6pm. The Kamloops Food Bank will be selling hotdogs, hamburgers and hot chocolate by donation. They will also have a stage for carolers, port-a-potties and a bonfire to keep warm.
When the train rolls in you can expect 14 brightly decorated cars complete with a performance stage that folds out for musical guests. The free show will last about 30 minutes. It is asked that you bring a donation for the Kamloops Food Bank.
Last year the event attracted 3000 people and raised over $20,000.
